Today, we honor the life and legacy of Dr. James Brady Foust, whose unwavering passion for the arts and deep commitment to the Eau Claire community helped make Pablo Center at the Confluence a reality. Brady’s vision, alongside his wife Jeanne, was instrumental in the creation of our arts center, and their generosity and dedication have left an indelible mark on the Chippewa Valley. Brady’s love for geography, education, and the arts inspired countless students and colleagues during his 37 years as a professor at UW-Eau Claire. A leader, innovator, and storyteller, he poured his heart into every endeavor—whether growing the university’s Geography Department into one of the nation’s best or conducting over 60 tours during Pablo Center’s construction, sharing his excitement with the community. Together, Brady and Jeanne’s contributions to the arts are unmatched. Their transformative $1 million gift led to the renaming of our Graham Avenue Gallery to the Brady & Jeanne Foust Gallery, a lasting tribute to their belief in the power of the arts to unite, inspire, and transform. Their efforts didn’t stop there—they continued to advocate for the Pablo Center and its role in enriching lives throughout the region. Brady and Jeanne’s passion for the arts has ensured a lasting legacy for our community, for the Pablo Center, and for every guest who steps through our doors. We would not be here without their incredible advocacy and support. As we mourn his passing, we celebrate his legacy—a legacy of love, art, and community. Thank you, Brady, for your belief in Pablo Center, for your tireless efforts to make it a reality, and for the joy and inspiration you brought to so many. Our hearts are with Jeanne and the Foust family during this time. You will forever be a part of the story of Pablo Center. Rest in peace, dear friend.
