Juried Annual Exhibit Featuring Recent Works from Regional and National Artists
The Confluence of Art Annual Exhibition resides each fall in the James W Hansen Gallery at Pablo Center at the Confluence. Regional and national artists submit their work for review for display in the exhibit with 50 works crossing different media, techniques, and motifs selected for display in the exhibit each year. Year after year, the volume and quality of works submitted continue to grow and is a testament that the arts scene in the Chippewa Valley and beyond is thriving, alive, and well. We welcome guests and artists alike to participate in the exhibit and share in the artistic excellence of our region.
The History of Immigration in The USA

The History of Immigration in the USA, is a series of 14 paintings that visualizes the history of immigration in the United States of America and the narrative shift that pushed for crimmigration and immigrant detention. The story is told in chronological order beginning with the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882 due to its extreme approach to prohibiting immigrants from a specific nation that resulted from racism and classism against Chinese immigrants.
I also wanted the series to be reminiscent of the immigrant experience as a whole. Not one word or emotion can captivate the complex and unique experience of migration. Similarly, this series expands to fit moments of fear, compassion, and hope. Each piece depicts a moment that affected policy, racial dynamics, or a shift in social norms. Overarching themes throughout the whole series include: human rights, social justice, and political voice. My goal with this series is for people to have a better understanding of the immigration system through a historical lens and a broader understanding of what it means to be an immigrant in America.
