Are you looking to perform? Look no further! We are seeking a mix of local and professional talent of all ages for our Summer 2023 lineup of performances.

New Works: Improbable Fiction

  • Volunteer position
  • Audition: Actor call information coming soon
  • Rehearsals: June through July
  • Performance: July 29 - 30

Merely Players - Young Players Troupe

  • Specifically for ages 16-24
  • PAID positions (nominal stipend)

Open Positions

Literary - Improbable Fiction

The New Works - Improbable Fiction production will look to engage the following literary creatives:

Playwrights

  • Free to submit. Selected works are stipend
  • Open call for new and original theatrical works
  • Application: Submission deadline is May 1

Adjudicators

  • Volunteer position
  • Engage as a script adjudicator and help select and bring the Improbable Fiction productions to life

Writing Coaches

  • Paid position
  • Work alongside a new works production team to help refine our winning scripts

Education

Summer School Teachers & Assistant Teachers

Share your love for theatre, writing, and teaching with the Chippewa Valley's youth. In our summer programming in partnership with area school districts, students grades 3-12 can learn about topics including technical theatre, youth theatre production, Shakespeare's plays and theatre, playwriting, creative writing, and poetry.

  • Altoona School District Programming (Positions have been filled)
    • Paid positions
    • DPI certification is required for teachers. Assistant teachers do not need certification.
    • Schedule: Fridays, June 16-July 21 from 8:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.

  • Eau Claire School District Programming (Positions have been filled)
    • Paid positions
    • DPI certification is required for teachers. Assistant teachers do not need certification.
    • Schedule: Weekdays June 12-30 from 9:00 - 11:30 a.m. or 1:00 -3:30 p.m,
    • Application: Applications opening soon

Merely Players Artist Mentors (Positions have been filled)

  • Paid position
  • Artist Mentors will guide the Merely Players performance troupe, coordinating meetings, facilitating needs, and mentoring participants
