The artwork of David Brock draws us into a supernatural view of our natural world. The shapes are familiar, the colors give a sense of the sun’s intensity: of heat. The artwork is as sturdy looking in structure and hue as the earth forms that he is painting. Bold rocks outlined in the darkest blacks give shape to the iconic features of a landscape of big skies. Everything is broken down into fundamental elements which seem to exceed the principles of the natural world.
