James Hansen Gallery
Residency Dates | June 7 - June 9
Artists Reception | June 10 from 5 - 8 p.m.
Art Talk | June 10 at 6 p.m. in James W Hansen Gallery
Drawing from the wondrous and the every day of Chippewa Valley, artist Sapira Cheuk will create a 30ft brush painting onsite at the Pablo Center. Visitors are encouraged to talk with the artist. Cheuk will then incorporate the impressions and visual interpretations gleaned from conversations with guests during the live event.
Utilizing traditional Chinese Sumi ink techniques and contemporary iconography, Cheuk will create a unique interpretation inspired by the surrounding area and her exchanges with visitors.
The final painting produced by this process will debut at the reception of Movement, Action, Location on June 10 from 5 - 8 p.m. Grab a drink at our lobby bar and join us for an evening of artful conversations. This event is free, however, you must reserve a ticket to attend.
