UWEC First Fridays : Mendelssohn and Schubert
October 2, 2020

“I know the community is craving live music right now, and a return to normal concerts. While we aren’t there yet, I am excited that we will be able to share solo and chamber music this fall by live-streaming the First Friday’s concert series from Pablo Center. Since the inception of the series, audiences have enjoyed excellent performances by UW-Eau Claire faculty, combined with the intimacy of the Clearwater Room. Now it will be even more intimate, as listeners tune in from their living rooms! We have curated four incredible concerts for this fall, including solo flute, solo piano, British music from Byrd to Britten, and a celebration of Beethoven’s 250th birthday. I hope you will join us.” - Nicholas Phillips
The First Friday’s series features faculty from the UW-Eau Claire Music Department livestreamed from the Clearwater Room. This concert features pianist Nicholas Phillips performing a collection of piano miniatures by Fanny Mendelssohn and Franz Schubert’s monumental Piano Sonata in B-flat Major, D.960.
Please purchase your tickets early for this event! Ticket sales will close 15 minutes prior to the start of the event to ensure you are able to view the livestream.
