Inclusive and Just Engagement and Practices Committee

In March 2021, the Inclusive and Just Engagement and Practices Committee (IJEP) was officially formed by the Confluence Council, the Board that oversees operations at Pablo Center at the Confluence. The Committee is dedicated to Pablo Center’s mission of promoting equity, accessibility, inclusion, and diversity in the arts through amplifying voices that have been marginalized and oppressed, strengthening relationships with the community, expanding and diversifying artistic programming, and strengthening anti-racist policies and procedures.

The Committee will support Pablo Center’s goals of implementing educational and innovative projects, exhibits, programs, and events that are inclusive, timely, and relevant, considering race, age, socioeconomic status, gender, cultural/ethnic traditions, special needs, and differing values and beliefs.

Throughout the year, the Inclusive and Just Engagement and Practices Committee will work to promote events that are part of month-long observances recognizing diverse groups in our community in order to amplify and honor the artistic traditions of marginalized populations, as well as explore the complex histories surrounding the events.
